My Favorite

Today I picked up this really nice sofa/side table. I knew what I wanted to paint it and it turned out much nicer than I thought. Love when that happens.

Another trip out

So today I made yet another trip to south surrey. It may be a long drive, but definately worth it if I can find the deals. I picked up some beautiful coffee tables and side tables. Pics will come. I am finishing off right now a really unique side table or smaller coffee table. Here is a pic of the before (or somewhat before) almost forgot to get a pic. It is now painted in Old white once again. That color is so practical for all decor.

Antique Dresser Makeover

I started this dresser on Saturday after having it sit in my garage for quite some time. I was waiting for my chalk paint to arrive. I was going to paint it a paris grey, but decided to do an old white as that is more practical for most homes. Saturday was super hot and annie sloan paint dries quick as it is, but with the heat it dried as quick as I could put it on. That was a bit challenging, but the final product once waxed, distressed and waxed once more turned out great.

Road Trip

Today I decided to head down to South Surrey to go pick up a whole bunch of old furniture. A lady had contacted me through my ad on craigslist that she had lots to sell, so off I went. 3 hours later I was home with a bunch of goodies and still some left there to be picked up with our truck. These are some of the items I bought for refinishing.

Some of these pieces look ugly now, but with some paint and scuffing up, will look beautiful. I still have about 3 other pieces that I don't have pics of yet, but you will have to wait for the finished piece to be posted.

Still to finish

I have a few pieces sitting in my shop that need refinishing. If you are interested in any of these pieces and would like them custom painted let me know.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

I have mentioned annie sloan chalk paint on my facebook page and here is what it is all about. This paint is supposed to be really great to work with. You don't have to prep your furniture, just paint. You can also use this paint on almost any surface. I have ordered a stock of it and am waiting patiently for it to arrive.

From shabby 2 chic

I started with this old dresser that I had sitting in my basement. I lightly sanded it, then painted it cream and distressed it. I kept the original hardware.

So then I got the fever for refinishing. So I got on Facebook swaps and Craigslist and started hunting. I found this small sofa table that I sanded down, stained a dark mahogany, painted black and then distressed it to show the dark stain through. This being one of my first projects got me excited because I sold it the same night I had finished it.

Sold

Over the next few days, I scoured different swap sights and started my collection of old furniture. Below are a few more from what they looked like from Shabby 2 chic.

This wine cabinet I found on facebook and had it sold before I even picked it up. She wanted it painted black and then distressed.

This beautiful french provincial dresser and night table was found at a garage sale. It was custom painted for a customer and then heavily distressed.

Found this antique dresser on craigslist already painted and all I did was scuff it up a bit and put it up for sale.
Sold

This antique vanity was another craigs find. I took the mirror off, painted and distessed the bottom dresser. I sold the mirror seperate and decided to keep the dresser for my living room.

I bought myself a small electric paint sprayer. This little tool cuts my painting time in half. Here I was just testing it out for the first time. Pretty exciting. I then painted the sofa table cream, distressed it and sealed it. I don't like the way it turned out, so probably going to do it again, but for now... here it is

 $250

This older dining table has really cool details on the legs. I sanded it down, painted it black distressed and sealed it.

 $225

Now this old dresser I found on facebook for only 10 bucks. Then Andrew came home a few days later with an identical one he found at a garage sale, so I had two of them sitting in my garage. One of them I decided to paint black and distress it. I am giving that one away as a b-day gift, the other one was a custom order for a lady who wanted it painted cream then distressed.

Sold

Now, I have a garage that is only partially full of furniture, always on the hunt though for that special piece. Keep following to see all the wonderful transformations.
